Morning, it is #SocialMediaWeek in Lagos, Nigeria and its up to a great start already with various events to mark #SMWLagos. In that same spirit, I granted an interview to the iPunch, a brain-child of The Punch Newspaper and it was published online today. Below is an excerpt of the interview:

What is social media recruiting?

In simple terms, it is the effective use of social media and networks by employers to attract, source, engage with and hire candidates. Social recruiting is a growing trend in human resources today.

It is a relatively new concept which human resource professionals in most parts of the world use to support their recruitment efforts.

Social networking sites, especially LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook, have made recruiting easier. These platforms provide a ready-pool of potential candidates/employees communicating with one another; all recruiters and hiring managers need do is join the conversation and recruit.
